This almost 18 million dollar project was construction of a new Performing Arts Building and the renovation of 150,000 square feet of the existing school completed for the DeKalb County School System. Nix-Fowler Constructors, Inc. performed value-engineering to meet the Owner's budget. The school had to be kept open the entire construction period, so students were moved into a "Village" of office trailers so that learning was not disrupted while renovations were under way. The New Performing Arts Building is the winner of two (2) awards: School Planning and Management 2007 Educational Design Showcase "Project of Distinction" and 2007 Build Georgia Awards "Honorable Mention".
